Another outstanding Pinot Noir from this California producer. Pale ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is excellent. It is interesting how often the "pale" Pinots have more going on than the darker ones. Aromas of cherries, cherry pie, slight pomegranate, and spices. Medium bodied. Light tannins. Lovely texture. On the palate, this has some complexity and will no doubt develop more as it ages. Flavors of cherries, sour cherries with underlying char and slight earthiness. An interesting Anise note emerges on the finish. This should develop and drink well for the next ten to fifteen years. It should work very well with Glazed Ham or Roasted Turkey.
