This is 100% Chardonnay raised in oak barrles, 50% new oak. Light yellow in color, clear and bright. The nose has lemons, slight vanilla, a bit of green apples, toasted nuts and spice. Full bodied. Good acidity. Crisp and energetic. The wine went thru no malolactic fermentation. On the palate, citrus (Tangerine?) and green apples. Clean with plenty of depth. Long finish. This is an excellent Chardonnay with just a bit of oak showing at the moment. It is great on its own and very food friendly. It should be excellent with shellfish. Drink over the next five to eight years.
