This is their basic Chardonnay. Screw capped. A very nice value. Pale yellow gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with grapefruits and slight chalky notes. Clean. Light to medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, this is refreshing. Notes of grapefruits. This is nice on its own and better with some food. A good wine to match with sea food or vegetarian fare. Drink over the next few years.
Screw capped. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is tight at first and took a couple of hours to open. Medium bodied. On the palate, this has tart yellow grapefruits. Slightly oily texture. Long finish with just the slightest of bitter. It drinks dry but has the mouthfeel that there will be some sweetness. This works better with food at this point to balance the lovely acidity. It would work well with swordfish or salmon off the grill. Drink over the next three to five years.
Made from organic grapes. 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir. Pale, silvery gold in color. A nice mousse of tiny bubbles, clear and bright. The nose is nice with lanolin, lemons and slight chalky note. On the palate, this is frothy with good acidity. Sweet/tart with green apple flavors. Very tasty. Nice minerality. Long finish. This is drinking quite well. Drink over the next few years. Very food friendly, this will work with just about any food you care to have it with. It was also great with popcorn! Great Value!
This is a well priced organic Chardonnay from one of our favorite producers. Yellow/gold/green hues, clear and bright. The nose has yellow grapefruits and nice minerality. Excellent juicy texture. Good acidity. Nice balance. On the palate, grapefruits, slight lemons and minerality. Long finish. This drinks well on its own and will work well with lighter foods such as a lemon pasta. Drink over the next three to five years. Great value!
An interesting Chardonnay from Argentina. Grown at high altitude, and picked early, the label lists 75 calories in a 5 oz.
This is another quality value from this Argentinian producer. Made from a blend of organic grapes, it is 75% Chardonnay and 25% Pinot Noir. The Charmat method is utilized meaning that the bubbles are trapped in stainless steel tanks versus in the bottle. While that does not have the tradition or "romance" of the Methode Champenois, to does allow for high quality wines at much more reasonable pricing. And, this bottle is proof.
