This Chardonnay from the southern Burgundy region offers a more traditional approach to Chardonnay, one you would expect from classic Burgundy. It offers light peach notes, delicate guava, Asian pear, a wee bit of honeysuckle, and a touch of orange zest. Darker in color than typical Chardonnay, it provides a balance between fruit, oak, acidity and floral notes. There is also a lovely viscosity to this, offering a weighty feel in the mouth, a tactile creaminess from time spent on the lees. Additionally, a consistent minerality supports the entire wine. After pressing the wine was aged on the lees, most of that in stainless steel with the other 20% in oak for eight months, thus creating a striking balance. ORIGIN: Bourgogne, France. ALCOHOL: 13%
