This was the first vineyard purchased by Clerico back in 1976 and first made in 1978.  It has only been made as a single vineyard bottling 12 times.  Ruby/garnet in color, clear and bright.  The nose is deep and complex with cherries, slight cola, tar, sage, orange peel and slight dried floral notes.  Lovely texture.  Great balance.  Firm tannins.  On the palate, flavors of cherries, slight sour cherries, orange peel and a bit of sage.  Deep and tightly layered.  Long finish.  This needs time to develop more.  Hold for five to ten years and drink for ten to fifteen after that.  It will be better with some complex food.  A Truffle (or mushroom) Risotto would be a nice choice.
