A nice value in red Burgundy (Pinot Noir) wine from a top negociant. Ruby in color, magenta swirls, clear and bright. The nose has cherries, some sandalwood and a bit of nutmeg. Medium bodied. On the palate, nice, easy drinking, cherry flavors. Short finish. This drinks well on its own and will work nicely with salmon or lighter foods. Drink over the next couple of years.
At or near peak and drinking well. Garnet in color, clear and bright. The nose is great with cherries, slight funk. slight black cherries and spice. Medium bodied. On the palate, bold cherry and some black cherry fruit. Slight forest floor and mushroom underneath. Nice energy and balance. Good finish. This should drink well for another ten to twelve years. Great on its own, this would work well with salmon or a mushroom dish.
Though young, this is drinking quite well and in "Burgundy" terms a good value. Deep garnet in color. The nose has cherries, spice, and slight black cherries. The texture on this wine is very pretty. Round but intense. Lots of black cherry fruit and some underlying earthiness. Good balance. Nice finish. This should continue to improve for five to ten years and be good for another five to ten after that. It will pair well with game or fowl.
