At or near peak and drinking well. Garnet in color, clear and bright. The nose is great with cherries, slight funk. slight black cherries and spice. Medium bodied. On the palate, bold cherry and some black cherry fruit. Slight forest floor and mushroom underneath. Nice energy and balance. Good finish. This should drink well for another ten to twelve years. Great on its own, this would work well with salmon or a mushroom dish.
This basic level Burgundy from a great vintage is drinking quite well at age 14. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has nice cherries with a slight forest floor. On the palate, this has slight layering. Slight complexity. Slight tannins. Good acidity. Nice cherry fruit with a certain freshness. Really a nice showing and better than anticipated. It seems like it should still have five more years. It will work great with fowl or heavier sea food dishes.
Great showing for this 1er Cru. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has cherries, spice and slight sandalwood. Medium bodied. Light tannins. Great texture. On the palate, this is complex and layered. Cherry fruit with some earthiness and spice. Good balance. Nice finish. This drinks well on its own but better with food. This would be nice with Salmon. Drink over the next ten years.
I really enjoyed this (more than the group I was tasting with actually). It has a great texture and is open and drinking well right now. It probably won't make old bones. For $27 it is fairly priced for immediate drinking. Purple/ruby in color. The nose has fresh cherries, cherry powder and slight earthiness. On the palate, this has big cherry fruit. Slight tannins. A wonderful silky texture. A bit sour cherry on the finish. Seems food friendly as well.
This was fine. Probably a bit past prime, but it probably never was great to begin with. More a victim of higher expectations given the vintage and age. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is dusty with some cherries. Not old, but not exciting either. On the palate, there is some energy here. It has a nice velvety texture. Cherry flavors. Not much depth. Medium finish. If you have any, drink up soon. This will work well with fowl.
