2017 Sandlands Chenin Blanc Lodi

As I said in a prior review. Sandlands makes my favorite US Chanin Blanc. Light golden in color. The nose is very nice with wax, orange peel, minerals and slight lemon. Medium bodied. On the palate, there is a nice depth. The orange peel comes thru with a slight waxy note. Good energy. Nice balance. Long finish. This drank great on its own after a tasting of 12 different Lodi Zins. It really cut thru and cleaned the palate and was delicious. drink over the next seven to ten years. This is one mailing list I highly recommend that you join.

Sandlands makes my favorite US Chanin Blanc. That might not be an impressive statement, but there are some great ones and this one competes with any anywhere. Light golden in color. The nose is very nice (if not served too cold) with almonds, orange peel, minerals and slight lemon. Medium bodied. On the palate, there is a nice depth. Sandlands is a winery that I encourage my friends to get on their mailing list. Chenin Blanc is a huge favorite of mine and Sandlands makes a few all are great and great values. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is great with red apples, orange peel and minerality. Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, this is deep but also drinks well. Sandlands makes some of the best Chenin Blancs in America. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with minerality/crushed shells, some lemon and lanolin. Light to medium bodied. Slightly oily texture. On the palate, this young. Vibrant. The minerality continues thru but the lemon is more persistent. Long finish. Tasty. This is nice on its own and should work well with all but the heaviest meat dishes. It worked very well with Hunan food. Drink over the next seven to ten years.

I am a big fan of the Chenin Blanc grape and Sandlands makes some of the best in California! They have a low alcohol but at the same time, these are not wispy or lacking in fruit. Light bronze/gold in color. The nose is great with lemons, wax, slight orange peel and minerals. On the palate, this is lean but solid. Nice acidity. A bit of lemon, over a nice steely minerality. Nice finish. Worked great on its own but will work with lighter foods and even a burger. Probably should last for 5 to 8 more years, but perhaps even longer. Sandlands makes some of the best Chenin Blanc in the US. Now, that might be faint praise for some, but theirs stands up to anyone's in the world too. Light silvery/gold in color with a touch of copper. The nose is very minerally with some orange peel. Medium bodied with a slightly oily texture. The minerality really comes thru to the palate, but there is also some tangerine notes and a hint or herbs. Good balance. Refreshing. Nice finish. This is drinking great now, but Chenin can age well. This won't make really old bones, but another seven to ten years is not out of the question
