Tasted at the winery.  Quite a treat!  This is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Cabernet, Nebbiolo, Croatina and Sangiovese.  16.5% abv.  Ruby in color, darker at the core, clear and bright.  The nose is tight at first but slowly opens in the glass.  There is a touch of Volatile Acidity which probably helps raise the aromatics.  Aromas of cherries, black cherries, plums, spice, balsamic and dark chocolate.  With a bit of black pepper emerges.  Nice texture.  Fine tannins but still firm.  Nicely balanced.  On the palate, black cherries, black raspberries, plums with a touch of dried but fresh tobacco and spice.  Long finish.  This really needs another five to ten more years of good cellaring but should drink for twenty more years after that.  It is great on its own and will work with bigger foods.  Braised Short Ribs or a Hearty Bean Stew would be nice matches.
