Gold/green in color, clear and bright. The nose has chalk, salinity and green apples. Medium bodied. Moderate acidity. No sharp edges. On the palate, red apples with slight chalk. Easy drinking. Moderate finish. Drinking well now and should for another five to eight years. This would work well with shell fish.
For under $25, this is an excellent value in Chablis, in Burgundy and in Chardonnay. Light, silvery/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose has some gun powder and some slight green apples. Also nice minerality/chalk. On the palate, this is lively and crisp. Nice green apple and minerals notes. Long finish. This would go great with foods as well. It should be drunk in the next few years.
This is drinking quite well. At a time when Burgundy prices are soaring and the "best" producers are unaffordable, Chablis still offers the ability to get a great wine. The question is how long will this continue. Light green/silver with a slight gold in color. The nose is pretty classic with crushed shells, chalk and green apples. This is a very nice Chardonnay made from estate grown and purchased fruit. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has some green apple often found in Chablis, but mostly grapefruit with some lemon. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is moderately crisp with a bit of chalky minerality. Good finish. It drinks well on its own and worked well with a caprese salad. Drink over the next few years.
Medium golden in color. The nose has green apples with a slight chalkiness. On the palate, there is a slight gun powder note with tart lemons. Plush texture. Slightly yeasty. Is this barrel fermented? An interesting take on Chablis that I very much enjoyed. Seemed to be love or hate it at the table. It does seem a bit advanced for its age. If this bottle was representative, it probably should be consumed in the next five years.
