While not inexpensive, this is one of the better "affordable" Grand Cru wines in Chablis. Green/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is great with crushed shells and sea air. With air, a bit of lime comes out. Full bodied. No tannins. On the palate, limes, quince, slight salinity with a nice texture. Good acidity. Long finish. This drinks great on its own but is better with food. It would be great with oysters. Drink over the next eight to ten years.
Silvery gold in color. The nose is initially quiet with slight gun powder. That becomes more pronounced with air and in addition, some green apples. On the palate, this is slightly oily in texture. Tart lemon-lime flavors. Juicy acidity. It does seem riper in style for a Chablis. This is still young and should continue to come together for the next few years and be good for a decade more after that.
It is always a pleasure to drink Chablis Even more Grand Cru from a great vintage. These are some of the best expressions of Chardonnay. This was my second time being lucky enough to try this one. It was pretty consistent, This one was no exception, Green/gold in color. Shimmering bright. The nose has plenty of green apples with a nice chalk/sea shell quality. On the palate, this is ripe and broad. It has a slightly oily texture which is a good thing. More red apple with underlying chalk. Good acidity. Nice finish. A stunning wine if still a bit young. In a day when Grand Cru Burgs are priced crazily, this is about the best one that is almost affordable. It certainly is not your typical Chablis in profile either. Golden in color. Not dark but not light either. No noticeable oxidation. The nose has peaches, slight chalk and a bit of pepper/spice. On the palate, the peaches carry thru over a concentrated minerality. Great round texture. Good acidity but not bracing. Nice finish. In general, this is a big round wine that is just delicious. It was interesting to try this side by side with the Vaudesir. While neither one could be called blowsy or showy, this has more presence and weight. Light golden/green in color, clear and bright. The nose is classic Chablis. Green apples, chalky minerality, slight gunpowder and slight white flowers. Full bodied. Great balance. Firm acidity. On the palate, green apples with underlying minerality and just a hint of flint/gunpowder. Long finish. This is nice on its own but needs food to really shine. Shell fish would be ideal but it went nicely with Japanese Noodles as well. This
