Wow. This bottle is singing if still youthful. Consumed over two nights and was different but equally satisfying on both. Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is deep with cherries, slight black cherries, slight asphalt, forest floor and a hint of menthol. Medium to full bodied. Thick tannins. Great balance. On the palate, this is delicious. Flavors of black cherries, cherries, forest floor, slight "tar". Some menthol on the back end and finish. It is nice on its own but better with food. Osso Bucco would be a natural but also Roasted Acorn Squash with lots of parmesan. It is fine to open now but give it some air. Drink over the next twenty years.
