At age 18, this was firing on all cylinders. Bought on release and cellared well since. Pop and pour, it took about 30 minutes to really open up. Purple in color, mostly opaque and just a bit flat as it starts to show some age. The nose has boysenberries, char, slight cedar and spice. Full bodied. Light tannins at this point. Deep. On the palate, the boysenberries come thru along with some char and a slight roasted herb (sage?) note. Long finish. This should go a bit further but it is pretty close to peak. Very concentrated though so give it time to blow off bottle stink and open. It drank great on its own but would work nicely with roasted chicken or root vegetables.
