From Magnum.  This was tasted right after some older Bordeaux's and the difference was obvious.  Both styles were good, but even at age 17, this was about fruit and sunshine while still showing some tertiary development. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has some earthy funk along with cassis, slight dried berries and slight spice.  On the palate, this has sweet cassis fruit.  Light tannins.  Underlying moist earthiness and a bit of tobacco.  Long finish.  This is delicious as well as complex.  In this format, the wine is pretty much at peak, but seems like it has another ten to fifteen years of good drinking left.  This drinks well on its own and will work great with a burger or a roast.
