Very impressive.  Not only is this Chianti 26 years old, but it bested a bunch of other top Italian wines in a recent tasting for many of the tasters!  Deep garnet in color with slight browning.  Mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is great with cherries, dried cherries, sandalwood, forest floor, old tea and spice.  Medium bodied.  Light tannins.  Great acidity.  On the palate, this is complex and deep.  Layers of cherries, dried cherries, and black cherries along with spices and a forest floor notes.  Long finish.  This is delicious on its own but even better with food.  It went well with Pasta with a Tomato Sauce.  Older bottles are a crap shoot, but this has a few more years left at least (if well stored).
