This was an interesting vintage as I recall. It seemed good but also seemed a but austere in its youth. It was great to try this at age 30 and probably just where expected. Deep garnet/purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice with plums, slight black cherries, and a very slight earthiness. Medium to full bodied. Light tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, it is there in the glass. drinking more youthful than 30 years old while also not showing a lot of development or complexity. But, also, not showing past prime or oxidation. Blind, I might have guessed 2008(?). At this age it's all a crap shoot, but this bottle has held up well and well stored bottles are likely to be similar. Not mind blowing but still very good.
