This is an excellent value. For around $18, it is hard to get a better Pinot anywhere. Not that it is amazing or mind blowing, but it is correct and affordable. That is what Bourgogne should be about. Purple/ruby in color. The nose is dusty with cherries, powdered cherry drink and slight spice. This has a very nice medium bodied, silky texture. Cherries and sour cherries on the palate. Slight depth. Good balance. Nice finish.
2015 is a great vintage and I was excited to get a chance to try this one. In Burgundy terms, this is certainly a value. It was selling for under $40. Ruby/purple in color. Very bright. On the nose, sour cherries and slight cranberries. Very nice lush texture. Medium tannins. On the palate, a bit one dimensional at this point. Plenty of sour cherry fruit. It drinks more like a new world Pinot than I expected. Perhaps those labels mean less and less these days. These wines don't seem to get the respect that other Bourgogne's get and that is a shame. This was delicious. It is more understated, but that is not a bad thing in Burgundy. Light ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with cranberries, rhubarb, cherries and slight char. Medium bodied. A bit riper on the palate with cherries and slight rhubarb. Light tannins. Sour/tart cherries on the finish. This works better with food than on its own. Sweet and sour Pork would work well.
This was popped and poured but it took about an hour to blow off some bottle stink and another hour to really get into gear. It would have been better served to pop the cork and allowed to breathe for a few hours. Luckily, we had the time to wait. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose (after a couple hours) is nice with cherries, earthy funk and slight floral notes. Medium bodied. On the palate, this has cherries layered with earthiness. Slightly soft. Deep. Nice finish.
