2017 Elena Fucci Aglianico del Vulture Titolo, Italy, Basilicata, Vulture, Wine Review
From the arch of Italy's boot, some of the best Aglianico wines come from here. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, black raspberries, char and spice. Full bodied. Medium to firm tannins. Great balance and acidity. On the palate, this is drinking well now. Flavors of black raspberries and black cherries with underlying char. Long finish. This is great on its own but better with food. Almost anything grilled. It would work well with grilled squash. Drink over the nexxt five to eight years.
2021 Borgo Bella Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, Italy, Abruzzo, Wine Review
This wine is Kosher for Passover. Mevushal. Purple in color with ruby swirls, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice with black cherries, slight plums and dust. Medium bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, cherries and plums. Moderate finish. A nice wine that works better with food. nice value, too. Pair it with brisket. Drink over the next few years.

2020 Joseph Colin Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Champlots Blanc, France, Burgundy, Wine Review
Of course, this is 100% Chardonnay. Pale golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is lovely with apples, slight grapefruit and white flowers. Medium bodied. Sinewy texture. On the palate, this is lean but powerful with apples, grapefruit and a bit of lemon on the finish. Nice enough on its own but really needs food to shine. It worked with vegetarian sushi but for those who eat seafood, regular sushi would be nice. Drink over the next ten years.
2001 Faiveley Latricières-Chambertin, France, Burgundy, Wine Review
Very nice chowing for this bottle which seems to be at peak. Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose is clean and on the more elegant side. Cherries, slight leathery notes, and just a hint of warm earth. Medium bodied. Just a wisp of tannins. Nice balance. On the palate, this has some depth and has a lovely texture. Flavors of cherries with a bit of old wood notes. Good finish. This worked better with food though it was nice on its own. I had a Japanese vegetable soup that paired well. Drink over the next fivve to eight years.
Gary Farrell 2022 Russian River Selection Chardonnay
2023 Ferraton Père & Fils Côtes du Rhône Samorëns Rosé, France, Wine Review
This Rosé is a blend of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah from the Rhone Valley in France. Light pink in color, clear and bright. The nose has cherries, strawberries and raspberries. Light bodied. Good balance. On the palate, this is accessible and drinking well. Flavors of Strawberries and Raspberries with good acidity. It is nice on its own but better with food. It worked well with a white pizza with asparagus. Drink over the next year or two. Excellent value.
