This is an excellent value (and wine) in Amarone.  It is a blend of Corvina 60%, Corvinone 30%, and Rondinella 10%.  Deep garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is deep with black cherries, cherries, coffee, slight anise, slight raisin, and spice.  Medium to full bodied.  Medium tannins.  Nice acidity.  On the palate, flavors of cherries, black cherries, chocolate, raisins, and spice.  Long finish.  This is nice on its own but better with food.  Braised Venison would be a great match but so would a Pepperoni Pizza.  Drink over the next ten years.

2010 Château Brane-Cantenac, France, Bordeaux, Margaux, Wine Review

Vintage:

Score:
94
Grade:
A
Current Price:
$125.00USD

This is a blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc from Bordeaux.  Ruby in color, purple at the core, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose is dusty with cassis, sawdust, blueberries and cedar.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  Nice texture.  Good acidity.  On the palate, flavors of cassis, blueberries, slight tobacco, and char.  A minty note at the end.  This is drinking well and close enough to peak.  Drink over the next ten years.  It is great on its own and will work well with bigger foods.  Grilled Lamb Medallions would be a nice pairing.
