Les Plus Haut translates to "the most elevated," as fruit from the highest blocks from both estate-owned Owsley Ranch and Vine Hill Vineyard were utilized. It is part of their Winemaker's Release series. Very impressive. Deep garnet in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose is concentrated with black cherries, cherries, spice, slight cough drop and dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied. Nice texture. Good balance. On the palate, this is a big Pinot but not overblown, in fact, also concentrated. Flavors of sour black cherries, ripe black cherries, baking spice and char. Long finish. This is drinking great now but will continue to mature and develop over the next ten to fifteen years. It is great on its own and will work beautifully with most foods. Roasted chicken or duck would be a great choice.
