This is the "junior" wine to Scarecrow but is usually spectacular in its own right. It is a blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Malbec, 11% Merlot, and the 4% Petit Verdot. Purple in color with ruby swirls, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is reticent but opens with air to show cassis, chocolate, slight tobacco, slight cedar and char. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Great balance. On the palate, this is delicious. Flavors of cassis, dark chocolate, slight earthiness and slight spice. Long finish. This needs more cellar time to reach its peak but is drinking well with an hour or so in a decanter. Hold for five years and drink for twenty after that. It worked with with eggplant but friends who had it with Salmon seemed pleased as well. Of course, steak would be classic. This doesn't appear to be a hundred point wine, but high 90's for sure especially with a bit more age.
