This is Petite Sirah from Lodi, California. Purple in color, ruby at the rim, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice with boysenberries, moist earthiness and slight char. Firm tannins. Nice texture. Good balance. On the palate, black raspberries, boysenberries, slight dark chocolate with some underlying char. Some depth. Good finish. This is still young but drinking well. It should improve over the next five to eight years. Drink over the next ten to twelve years. It drinks nicely on its own and would work well with grilled foods (maybe not seafood). One of the best Lodi Red wines I can remember tasting.
