I was curious how  this would compare to the excellent Halcon Petite Sirahs made from this vineyard.   Of course, this is still quite young but it showed very well.  Inky purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is deep with boysenberries, gravel, slight violets and spices.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  Nicely balanced.  This took a couple hours to open and then showed very well.  On the palate, flavors of boysenberries with gravel and char.  Plenty of depth.  Long finish.  This is nice on its own and will work well with most (not seafood) foods.  A nice choice with just about any pizza.  Hold for another five years minimum and drink for ten to fifteen after that.  Great value!
