The grapes are from a single vineyard that was first planted 90 years ago. Made from 100% Barbera grapes. Ruby/Purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice with black raspberries, black cherries, balsamic and slight minty notes. Firm tannins. Good acidity. Medium to full bodied. On the palate, black cherries, char and slight black raspberries. Long finish. This is nice on its own but will be better with food. It would go well with Pasta in a ground beef or mushroom tomato sauce. Drink over the next eight to twelve years.
