Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is nice with black cherries, slight bramble, char and slight spice. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, this is nicely balanced with good acidity. Flavors of black cherries, with spice and char. Good finish. This is drinking well but will age nicely over the next ten years. It is excellent on its own and will work well with many foods. It went very well with vegetarian Indian food (moderately spicy).
This is a blend from the winery's home vineyard of 87% Zinfandel, 13% Mixed Black Varieties (Alicante Bouschet, Petite Sirah, Grand Noir, Peloursin, Trousseau Noir, Tempranillo, Carignan, Muscadelle, Malvasia, Muscat, Clairette blanche & 28 Other Varieties). Purple in color with some ruby swirls, opaque and bright. The nose takes about twenty minutes to open and then just keeps improving. This is a blend of 86% Zinfandel with 14% other varietals from the Russian River Valley in Sonoma. Of course, it is Mike Officer and Carlisle's home vineyard. Purple in color with some ruby hues, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is energetic with black raspberries, black cherries, bramble, black pepper and spice (cloves?). Medium bodied. Light tannins. Great balance. On the palate, this is young but really opens with an hour or two air. Plenty of depth. Flavors of black raspberries, black cherries, char and spice. Juicy. Long finish. This is delicious on its own and will work
What a great showing for this wine. Gorgeous. Purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, black raspberries, char, bramble and baking spices. Full bodied. Lush and luxurious texture. Lots of energy though. It drinks (too) easily. Delicious but also has a depth and complexity. Lots of black cherries, black raspberries and black pepper on the palate. Long finish. This should continue to drink well for ten years at least but it will lose its vibrancy and be replaced with more complexity. It would be a shame to miss it now. It will work great with grille
This was quite good. It is still young but drinking great. It should continue to evolve and mature and should be good for another decade and probably more. Inky purple in color, ruby at the rim. On the nose, this has nice bramble, black cherry fruit, raspberries, pepper and spice. A very nice lush texture. Black cherries on the palate with underlying char and dry earth. Long finish. This is delicious and continued to open though it didn't take long to finish the bottle. Would work well with spicy foods and grilled foods.
Garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice with black cherries, cherries, char, slight bramble and spice. Medium to full bodied. Nice acidity. Light tannins. On the palate, this is tasty. Lovely texture. Black cherries, cherries and some char and spice. Good finish. This is very drinkable. Young, but open. Drink over the next seven to ten years. Great on its own, this will work well with ribs or a burger off the grill.
