Offering a lighter style of Cabernet, this 2019 Dough is definitely a solid value. Black cherry, blueberry, blackberry, light plum, pomegranate, rhubarb, green tea leaf and black cherry, announce themselves and it offers moderate acidity and decent tannins. The wine was aged 16 months in both American and French oak barrels. What makes this wine a little unique is that Steve Myers, the president of Distinguished Vineyards wanted to partner with the well known James Beard Foundation (JBF) to create wines that, “foster positive systemic change, diversity, and giving back to the communities we are a part of,” Myers said. So a partnership was born with the goal of money raised from the purchase of Dough Wines to support JBF programs within the restaurant, wine and hospitality industries, specifically. In addition to this Cabernet, Dough also produces an Oregon Pinot Noir and a California North Coast Chardonnay. ORIGIN: Mendocino, California. ALCOHOL: 14.9%
