What a tremendous value! The winery's web site indicates this is made from Tempranillo, Graciano, and Mazuelo grapes though the label only lists Tempranillo. Garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is dusty with cigars, cherries and spices. With air some coconut notes emerge. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. Nicely balanced. On the palate, cherries and black cherries with a touch of dill. Slight anise especially on the finish. This is drinking well now and should go another five to eight years if well stored. It is nice on its own but better with food. This would go well with grilled meats but it also went well with vegetarian "meatballs" in a red sauce.
