This is a wine made from the Trebbiano grape on the shores of Lake Garda from the Lugano DOC. Light golden in color. Lovely nose of tropical fruit, slight grassiness and underlying minerality. Very Sauvginon-like. On the palate, this is round and slightly oily. Velvety. Very nice texture. NIce acidity. Just a bit of lemony fruit with good minerality. Nice finish. Very food friendly and a crowd favorite.
This is made from 100% Trebbiano de Lugano in Veneto, Italy. Light straw gold in color, clear and bright. Lovely nose of honeysuckle and minerality with a bit of sea air. Light bodied. On the palate, this has a lot of sprightly energy. Minerals and slight citrus. With air, more salinity comes out. This will work well with lighter foods. It worked with fried Tofu, but sea food would be a good choice. Drink over the next couple of years.
Lugana is a wine region in Italy along the southern side of Lake Garda. The grape is Turbiana, previously known as Trebbiano di Lugana. 13% abv. Golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is spicy with slight peach. My guess is that on release, the peach notes were stronger but have faded over time. Slightly oily texture. Medium bodied. On the palate, there is some sweetness to the wine (demi-sec?). Also apples. This bottle seemed well past prime but it may not have been a proper bottle as it has some mustiness to it. One of my favorite white wines of Italy. This is their basic Soave and while not at the level of the vineyard designated wines, this is still very good and a very good value. It is a blend of 85% Garganega and 15% Trebbiano di Soave. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has peaches, lots of minerality, salinity, and lemon peel. Medium bodied. Crisp, but with some viscosity. Medium acidity. On the palate, its more about the minerality although there is some peach. Easy. This would work well with Indian cuisine. Drink over the next few years.
There seem to be a lot of references to this wine as coming from Colline Teatine IGT, but the bottle states Abruzzo Bianco DOC. It is a blend of 50% Trebbiano, 30% Pecorino, and 20% Cococciola. Golden in color with silver hues, clear and bright. The nose has lots of minerality, some lemon notes and a hint of floral tones. Medium to full bodied. Slightly oily texture. Crisp acidity. On the palate apples, tart apples and minerality. Deep. Long finish. This is an excellent white wine that would be double or triple the price if the label was from a more "prestigious" area.
This is a nice inexpensive white wine from the region of Abruzzo. It is made with the Trebbiano grape. Pale, silvery copper in color. The nose has citrus (grapefruit and orange) with slight mint. On the palate, this has a nice mouthfeel. Pink grapefruit flavors. Tart. It actually has some slight tannins. Long finish. This will be great at a party. it will go well with salads and pasta dishes as well well as fish or fowl. The screw cap will help it maintain its freshness but it should be drunk now.
