Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is smoky with lemon notes. Medium to full bodied. Slightly oily texture. On the palate, lemons and lemon candy with a bit of minerality. A bit lower in acidity than expected but enough. Nice finish. This is drinking well now and should continue for another ten to twelve years. It drinks well on its own but is better served with food. This would be nice with grilled Salmon.
Quite the treat! Served to me by friends! Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose takes some time to open, and then orange/tangerine, peach, slight almond flour and a bit of a floral note. Medium bodied with a slightly oily (in a good way) texture. On the palate, this takes some time to open and then shows peach, tangerine, and stony minerality. Delicious. Long finish. This is young and will undoubtedly improve over the next seven to ten years. It should drink well for another ten to twelve after that. Served to a group blind. I thought it was a bit oxidized (just slightly) which is worrisome. The group guess was California although I leaned to a more modern, bigger Chablis. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has some lemons with oak/spice but a streak of apple cider. Not fresh apples thought perhaps that was there too. On the palate, apples with some cider notes. Slightly oily texture (which is why I thought Burgundy). Some viscosity. Slightly flabby. It was likely the oak and the lack of acid that led the group into thinking it was from California. OK finish.
This was interesting. In a room with 7 blind tasters with plenty of experience, no one even guessed Chardonnay much less Burgundy. Personally, I was stumped. It was good, but I had no idea what it might be. Green/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose has a nice minerality with a touch of quince. A very nice mouthfeel, slightly oily. On the palate, mostly minerals. Good finish. It drinks well on its own and would be better with some seafood or hearty vegetarian dishes. Drink over the next five years or so.
Silvery/gold in color. The nose is very nice with gunpowder and slight lemon chiffon. On the palate, this is slightly oily. Nice lemony notes. OK acidity. A very nice wine that should work with lighter foods. Fresh and lively right now. It should be good for another five to ten, but it won't improve.
This wine is in a beautiful place right now. Medium gold in color, clear and bright. The nose has grapefruit, slight orange peel, with a slight touch or caramel. Full bodied. Complex. On the palate, quince with slight grapefruit. Good acidity. Long finish. This is great on its own and would be excellent with shellfish. Though it will last long, drink in the next few years to catch at peak.
