Wow, this bottle was kicking on all cylinders (pop and pour).  Deep purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is deep with plenty of barnyard but also black cherries, black raspberries, old leather, dried floral notes and char.  Full bodied.  Tannins mostly resolved.  Great balance.  On the palate, this is classic CdP.  Flavors of black cherries, plums, black raspberries, black pepper with an underlying earthiness.  An almost seamless texture.  Long finish.  This is at peak.  Some might not like the barnyard/earthiness but if that is ok, this was great.  Complex and contemplative.  Drink up soon, maybe the next three to six years.  It was great on its own but would be better with food.  It would go great with a meaty Lasagna.
