One of the top producers in Chateaneuf and one with out a luxury cuvee.  This is a blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 10% Syrah.  Served pop and pour, this took about 30 minutes to really open and then drank beautifully.  We shared the bottle with friends while listening to Latin jazz at an outdoor café. Purple in color with some garnet hues.  Opaque and bright.  The nose is great with cherries, black cherries and red currants along with some spices and slight char.  Full bodied.  Great texture.  This list 15.8% abv but it was not noticeable.  On the palate, lush, complex and delicious.  Black cherries, cherries and currants with underlying char.  Long finish.  This was great on its own and worked very well with a mushroom and potato dish.  Still young, but no harm enjoying now.  Drink over the next ten to fifteen years.
