My first time trying this winery and I am impressed.  I kept reading things like "old school" or "medium bodied" and I think those descriptions are missing the point.  First off, this is delicious!  Purple in color with ruby swirls.  The nose is great with a bit of air.  Cassis, slight clove, black cherries, just the slightest whiff of bell pepper and spice.  On the palate, this is in fact medium to full bodied.  Light tannins.  But, this is not Bordeaux or "Classic" Napa.  It has plenty of sunshine and ripeness.  Lots of energy.  A wonderful mouthfeel.  The fruit pops on the attack and then the mid-palate is deep and complex.  Black and red currants with underlying clean, dry earthiness.  Great balance.  Each sip makes me want to have another one.  Nice finish.  This is still young and will need another five years to maturity.  It should drink well for another ten years after that.  If I had to try to compare it to other wines, it is somewhat like a slightly riper version of Corrison that is a bit more accessible young.  Given its price (much less expensive off the mailing list) and style, I understand why those looking for a big Cab might be underwhelmed.  For those who like this style, they will not be disappointed.  This will match nicely with roasted duck.
