Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is dusty with cherries. On the palate, light cherries. OK finish. Certainly a fine Pinot Noir. This retails for around $25 which is a fair price. Varietally correct. Will work with a wide variety of foods. Probably won't improve but should cellar well for another 10 years.
This is an excellent value. For around $18, it is hard to get a better Pinot anywhere. Not that it is amazing or mind blowing, but it is correct and affordable. That is what Bourgogne should be about. Purple/ruby in color. The nose is dusty with cherries, powdered cherry drink and slight spice. This has a very nice medium bodied, silky texture. Cherries and sour cherries on the palate. Slight depth. Good balance. Nice finish.
Pinot Fin is apparently an ancient clone of Pinot Noir. The berries are even smaller than Pinot Noir. Arnoux's fruit is from Chambolle-Musigny, Vosne-Romanee, and Nuits-Saint-Georges. Some of the vines date back to 1959. Whether that is marketing or there is some substance there is hard to say based on this sample. It was my first time trying this wine. Deep ruby in color. The nose has sour cherries, dust and slight earthiness. On the palate, this is good but relatively simple. Cherries with slight underlying earthiness. Medium finish. Tasted over two nights, it was better on the second. This carries the name Pinot Noir on the label as well. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose has raspberries, rhubarb and slight cherries. Also, a slight dill note. Odd as this sees no wood at all. On the palate, the red fruits carry thru if a bit thin. There is a green note especially on the finish. This was disjointed on opening but with air settled a bit. It is an easy going Pinot Noir that is unremarkable in most aspects. It will work better with some lighter food, perhaps chicken salad. A nice value in red Burgundy (Pinot Noir) wine from a top negociant. Ruby in color, magenta swirls, clear and bright. The nose has cherries, some sandalwood and a bit of nutmeg. Medium bodied. On the palate, nice, easy drinking, cherry flavors. Short finish. This drinks well on its own and will work nicely with salmon or lighter foods. Drink over the next couple of years.
