Light golden in color. The nose is nice with minerals/slight chalk and lemon chiffon. On the palate, this has a nice acidity. Works well with food. Some lemons but more about the minerality. Long finish. Not sure how this will age but at 5 years from vintage, it is in a great place. Refreshing but with some complexity.
Light gold/green in color. The nose is nice with lemons, slight vanilla, and a bit of grapefruit. On the palate, this is nice but a bit more depth would be nice. Decent acidity. Some lemon and grapefruit. Went well with a vegetarian pasta dish. This cost $70 and that is the biggest thing. Hard to justify that unless one lays it down the cellar. But, with white Burgundies, that raises the risk of premature oxidation. I am not sure what the answer is, but I find myself buying less White Burgundy. That said, if you have this, it should be cellared for at least five more years.
Served to a group blind. I thought it was a bit oxidized (just slightly) which is worrisome. The group guess was California although I leaned to a more modern, bigger Chablis. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose has some lemons with oak/spice but a streak of apple cider. Not fresh apples thought perhaps that was there too. On the palate, apples with some cider notes. Slightly oily texture (which is why I thought Burgundy). Some viscosity. Slightly flabby. It was likely the oak and the lack of acid that led the group into thinking it was from California. OK finish.
Light green gold in color. The nose is nice with slight vanilla, lots of minerality and some lemon. Also, with air, some eucalyptus/minty notes. On the palate, this is crisp and lean (in a good way). Less oak showing on the palate. Nice clean finish. This should work nicely with sea food and lighter foods. Youthful, it should age out a bit over the next ten years.
Quite the treat! Served to me by friends! Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose takes some time to open, and then orange/tangerine, peach, slight almond flour and a bit of a floral note. Medium bodied with a slightly oily (in a good way) texture. On the palate, this takes some time to open and then shows peach, tangerine, and stony minerality. Delicious. Long finish. This is young and will undoubtedly improve over the next seven to ten years. It should drink well for another ten to twelve after that. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is smoky with lemon notes. Medium to full bodied. Slightly oily texture. On the palate, lemons and lemon candy with a bit of minerality. A bit lower in acidity than expected but enough. Nice finish. This is drinking well now and should continue for another ten to twelve years. It drinks well on its own but is better served with food. This would be nice with grilled Salmon.
