One of my favorite Right Bank wines, this checks in at 86% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. And, 2010 was a fantastic vintage and the Merlot based wines are really starting to open up nicely. Purple in color, Ruby at the rim, opaque and bright. The nose has chocolate covered cherries, tobacco, spice (cumin?), blueberries and minerality. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Plenty of depth and complexity. A fantastic creamy texture. On the palate, this is delicious. Flavors of chocolate covered cherries, earthiness, minerality, slight blueberries and black raspberries and spice. Not yet at peak but drinking wonderfully. This should work well with many foods but great on its own as well. It would be perfect with Duck L'Orange. Drink over the next thirty to forty years. A few more years and this is an easy 100 point wine.
