2010 Domaine de Courcel Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens, France, Burgundy, Wine Review

At age 14, this is drinking beautifully.  Ruby in color with purple swirls, mostly clear and bright.  The nose is tight at first but with air it opens up to show dried cherries, some cherries, spice and slight sandalwood.  Medium bodied.  Seamless texture.  Tannins resolved.  On the  palate, this is complex and at or close to peak. Flavors of cherries, currants, earth and spice.  Good finish.  This needs food to really shine its best.  Roasted fowl would be a nice choice.  drink over the next five to eight years.  Caveat- I drank this blind with a group of people and I enjoyed it more than the group.
