This is very nice if not a top tier Grand Cru wine. The vintage, 2009, was hailed as a great vintage when first released but it seems to be a bit precocious and accessible, but not sure if it really rises to the level of "great". All of that said, this wine performed about as expected and consistent with the above. Deep ruby in color with some purple swirls. Mostly opaque and mostly bright. The nose is good with cherries, black cherries, along with a nice, damp earthiness. Medium to full bodied. Good acidity. Light tannins. On the palate, this has some depth. It drinks on the younger side. Perhaps more ageing will allow the complexities to come out more. Flavors of macerated cherries with underlying earthiness. Good finish. This is nice on its own but will be better with food. A nice choice would be Roasted Chicken with Mushrooms. Drink over the next eight to twelve years.
