In the running for wine of the year.  Consumed from Magnum while tailgating at the Browns vs. Jets Monday Night Game in NY (NJ).  Pop and pour, this opened quickly and was stunning.  It is 93% Grenache and 7% Syrah.  Purple in color, ruby at the rim.  Still bright and shiny.  The label list 16.4% Alcohol but it didn't show on the nose or taste.  The nose has black raspberries, black cherries, slight toast, a bit of roasted meats and slight floral qualities.  On the palate, a wonderful texture (likely helped by the alcohol).  Supple, rich yet vibrant and light on its feet.  Deep.  Layers of black cherries, black raspberries, earth and slight char.  Complex.  Delicious.  Finishes goes on forever.  It will work with grilled foods but was also great with a chocolate dessert.  I doubt it can get better but seems like it has another decade or more at this level.  Wow.
