Always a treat to drink Krug. This vintage is a blend of Chardonnay (43%) and Pinot Noir (42%) and Pinot Meunier (15%). Golden in color, clear and bright. The mousse is present but not as persistent or abundant as it likely was in its youth. The nose is nice with honey, wheat, slight ginger and slightly oxidized. Also a touch of salinity. Full bodied. Good acidity. On the palate, there is a slight fizz but this bottle is past its prime although still nice. Flavors of ginger, char, and some minerality. Good finish. Well stored bottles may offer a bit more but at age 25, this was still offering plenty to like. It is very nice on its own and would work well with many foods. It worked nicely with Vegetarian Chili.
