This wine was opened and decanted for at least three hours before drinking. Not enough. This should still be held. It is a magnificent wine but very young still. It is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc, and 9% Merlot. Inky purple in color. The nose has cassis, tobacco and slight black cherries. With air, some spice comes out. On the palate, this has a wonderful texture. Deep cassis fruit that is bottomless. Layers begin to emerge in the glass of fruit and earth but very tight. Firm tannins. It is delicious even now, but so much more potential. It is probably at least ten years from peak and should be good for another twenty and maybe thirty or more after that. No doubt it will eventually merit that 100 point score.
