16.5%abv.  This is a blend of Corvina 65%, Corvinone 15%, Rondinella 10%, and Oseleta 10%.  Deep garnet in color, ruby at the rim, mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has cherries, raisins, char, spice, chocolate,  slight cedar and black licorice.  Complex and big.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  On the palate the has cherries, some black cherries, and fennel.  Long finish.  This wine is in a great place right now.  It should drink well for another ten years.  Great on its own, this would be great with venison or other slow cooked meat dishes.

Ruby in color, mostly clear and bright.  The nose has black cherries, black raspberries, sandalwood and tea leaves.  Medium to full bodied.  Firm tannins.  This is young but reasonably accessible already.  On the palate, this is concentrated and deep.  Flavors of black cherries, slight anise and slight forest floor.  Long finish.  No harm drinking now but better to wait three to five years and then drink for ten to twelve after that.  A great match for Pasta Bolognaise.

This is a Bordeaux blend from Tuscany.  It is comprised of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Petite Verdot.  Purple in color with ruby swirls, Mostly opaque and bright.  The nose has cassis, cherries, mike chocolate, spice and tobacco.  Full bodied.  Firm tannins.  On the palate, cassis, cherries, fresh cut oak, chocolate and a bit of funk.  Long finish.  This is a great "Bordeaux" styled wine (you can also call it a Super Tuscan) for the money.  It is drinking well now but may still improve with some cellaring.  Drink over the next ten years.  Nice on its own b

Ordered off the wine list at Edwin's in Shaker Heights, Ohio.  This is Chenin Blanc from the Loire Valley in France.  Pale yellow gold in color, clear and bright.  The nose is expressive with minerality (Schist?), apples and slight orange peel.  Semi plush texture.  Great acidity.  On the palate, this is mineral driven but there is also some apple fruit.  Persistent finish.  This is drinking well now but should go another seven to ten years.  Nice on its own as well as with food.  This went great with an Asparagus Heart soup (no easy feat).

This is Bedrock's interpretation of a Domaine Tempier (Bandol) Rosé made in California.  It is a blend of 60% Mourvedre, 35% Grenache and 5% Syrah.  Pale pink/orange in color, clear and bright.  The nose is nice with strawberries, cherries, wild thyme, and spice.  Light to medium bodied.  Light tannins.  On the palate, this is more than a light Rosé.  There is some substance and depth.  Flavors of strawberries, slight watermelons and herbal notes.  Tasty.  I suspect this drinks well for a while, but to be safe, drink over the next few years.  Very food friendly, this will work with just abo

This is obviously very young but surprisingly accessible.  Inky purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose has boysenberries, graphite, gravel, spice, and char.  Great, plush texture.  Good acidity.  Lots of vibrancy.  On the palate, firm tannins.  Loads of boysenberry fruit with underlying char.  Tighter on the palate, but opens nicely with a few hours of air.  This will improve with a few more years in the cellar.  Hold for another three to five and drink for ten to fifteen after that.  Nice on its own, this worked well with vegetarian Indian cuisine.

There are a lot of Vin Santos being made but not a lot of outstanding ones.  This Vin Santo is consistently outstanding.  Amber in color, clear and bright.  The nose is great with apricots, orange peel, honey, maple syrup and roasted cashews.  Full bodied.  Viscous.  Great acidity.  On the palate, roasted nuts, honey, peach, apricot and a bit of maple.  Long finish.  Delicious. Complex.  This is great on its own and would be nice with Biscotti or another less sweet cookie.  Drink over the next twenty years.

This is a blend of 50% Merlot, and 50% Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso from northeast Italy.  Purple in color, opaque and bright.  The nose is powerful (and nice) with black cherries, black raspberries, tobacco, and spice.  Full bodied.  Medium tannins.  Great acidity.  On the palate, this is delicious.  Plenty of structure but still accessible.  Flavors of black raspberries, black cherries with tobacco, spice and char.  Long finish.

This is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon from northeast Italy.  Purple in color with some ruby hues.  The nose is nice with black cherries, some cherries, tobacco, slight dark chocolate and spice.  Full bodied.  Medium tannins.  On the palate, this has some depth and complexity.  Young, of course, but drinking well.  Flavors of black cherries with some forest floor, spice and char.  Nice finish.  This should drink well for the next eight to twelve years.  This would be a nice wine to pair with Fried Chicken and of course, pasta.  A very nice value in red wine.
