2020 Collezion Privata Cosimo Varvaglione Negroamaro Salento IGP, Italy, Apulia, Wine Review
Made from the Negroamaro grape in the heel of Italy's boot. Purple/ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice; dusty with cherries, tobacco, black pepper and anise. Nice texture. Full bodied. Firm tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, flavors of black cherries with some chocolate and slight anise on the long finish. This is nice on its own but better with food. It needs full bodied food at this point and would work well with Orecchiette in a heavy sauce. Drink over the next eight to twelve years.

2021 Tenuta Argentiera Bolgheri Villa Donoratico, Italy, Tuscany, Wine Review
This is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot from Tuscany. Purple in color with some garnet swirls, mostly opaque and bright. Great nose with cassis, black cherries, graphite and clay. Full bodied. Medium tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, flavors of cassis, clay and a bit of chocolate. Long finish. This is drinking well now and should have another eight to twelve years left. Nice on its own, this would be a nice match with Spaghetti Bolognaise.
2022 Domaine Bousquet Cabernet Sauvignon, Argentina, Mendoza, UCO Valley, Wine Review
Made with organic grapes. Purple/ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice with cassis, dust and char. Nice texture. Medium to full bodied. Medium tannins. On the palate, cassis, slight black olive with a bit of char. Good balance. Slight bitter cherry note on the finish. The drinks nicely and easily on its own and will work well with foods (not seafood) off the grill. Drink over the next five to eight years. Another excellent value.

2023 Mouton Cadet x Pierre, France, Bordeaux, Wine Review
This is 100% Merlot from Bordeaux, France named after Pierre Ögren is the son of Camille Sereys de Rothschild and great-grandson of Baron Philippe de Rothschild. It is well priced and a very nice value. Ruby in color, clear and bright. The nose is earthy with black cherries and slight cigar. Full bodied. Light to medium tannins. Good acidity. On the palate, black cherry fruit. Very east to drink with a nice finish. This drinks well on its own but better with food. It went very well with assorted roasted veggies and hummus. Drink over the next five years.

This is 100% Cabernet Franc from Argentina. Garnet in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose has black cherries, slight green tobacco notes and a bit of sea air. Medium bodied. Medium tannins. Moderate acidity. On the palate, black cherry fruit with a bit of Anise. Good finish. This is dry but ripe. It drinks easily on its own with just a bit of complexity. It should work well with meat or pasta dishes. Drink over the next five to seven years. very nice value!
