35% Pinot Noir, 35% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay. This is a fairly priced Champagne (around $40). Light golden in color. The nose has some toast with a bit of lemons. Also a dusty quality. On the palate, this has a nice minerality. Some strawberries appear on the palate. The acidity seems to fade away a bit. This makes for easy summer sipping. Nice finish. Works fine with food.
This is a blend of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier. Light golden in color with just a touch of copper hues. Nice mousse with plenty of tiny bubbles. The nose is very nice with ginger, toast and minerality. Full bodied. Crisp acidity. On the palate, lemons, char, and slight pears. Long, vibrant finish. This is nice on its own but with all that acidity, it begs for food. It would work with just about any foods. It worked nicely with soft cheeses. drink over three to five years from release date.
First time trying the producer. A very nice reasonably priced Champagne. It is a blend of 50% Pinot Meunier, 25% Pinot Noir, and 25% Chardonnay. Apparently the last few generations of the family were all Hot Air Balloon enthusiasts so the label features a hot air balloon. Light golden in color, clear and bright with a fair amount of smallish bubbles. The nose is nice; toasty with some green apples and a bit of ginger. On the palate, the toastiness comes thru along a nice minerality and some lemons. Good acidity. Nice finish. This makes for a very pleasant start to an evening. It
A new producer for me, this was very good. Silvery gold in color, clear and bright. A nice mousse with tiny bubbles. On the palate, this is clean. Lemons with a bit of toast and some minerality. Medium bodied. Nice acidity. On the palate, lemons and red apples with underlying minerality. Lively. Long finish. This is youthful and drinking well. Drink over the next ten to twelve years. Very food friendly. It would be nice with popcorn while watching television.
From the excellent 2008 vintage. This is 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir and,10% Pinot Munier. Light golden in color, clear and bright. A fair amount of tiny bubbles. The nose has apples, slight cider notes, and a touch of chalk. Medium bodied. Good acidity. The fruit is ripe which comes off a bit sweet but that calms down with air. Nice apple fruit. Solid finish. This is drinking quite well now and should continue to do so for the next decade. It went well with a varied menu from Shishido peppers and garlic to sharp Cheddar.
