This is a "Port Style" wine made from Malbec grapes in Argentina. Even the bottle is a "Port" type bottle. Purple/blue in color, opaque and shimmering bright. The nose has aromas of chocolate covered raisins. Very nice. Full bodied. Great texture. On the palate, black cherries, dark chocolate and slight prunes. Long finish. This is delicious on its own and would work nicely with a (dark) chocolate dessert. 18% abv.
This is a blend of 80% Malbec, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Ancellotta. It is a big wine made from Estate grown fruit in Paraje Altamira. It is a big wine that clocks in at 14% Abv although it seems a bit higher. It is also delicious and makes a great drink when sitting around with friends. Deep purple in color. The nose has plums, some black raspberries, spice and slight coffee bean. On the palate, this has medium tannins. It is thick and voluptuous. Plums and cassis flavors with some oak. This is an excellent value in a pretty straightforward Malbec from Argentina. Purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose is nice with black raspberries, slight cedar, plums and a hint of char. Medium bodied. Nice texture. On the palate, this has ripe red and purple fruits; black raspberries, plums and black cherries, with just a bit of char underneath. Nice finish. This is drinking well now and while not complex, the type of wine that most would enjoy a glass or two of. It drinks very well on its own and will work well with a (garden) burger.
