Light golden in color, lots of tiny bubbles, clear and bright. Nice mousse. The nose is toasty with some green apples. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is very nice. Toasty with apples. Nice acidity. The finish is a bit clipped. Overall, a fine, less expensive Champagne that would be nice for parties. It drinks well on its own and will work well with canopies. Drink over the next year or two.
Tasted from Magnum. Great showing. In the world of semi-affordable Champagne, this is one of the top Rose's. Ruby/copper in color, clear and bright. A steady steam of tiny bubbles form a pretty mousse. The nose has strawberries, slight orange peel and just a hint of currants. Medium bodied. Nice acidity. Fresh and clean. On the palate, the red currants really come out along with a bit of red raspberries. Nice finish. This drinks easily and served as a wonderful prelude to a long dinner, both stimulating the palate and working well with Potato Pave. Drink over the next few years
Always a pleasure to try this wine although it underperformed expectations for the wine in this vintage. Golden in color, clear and bright. Nice mousse with lots of tiny bubbles. Wow! Its vintage Krug, but still, wow! This is still young but it is opening up now and really hitting its stride. It has a couple of decades left or more, depending how you like older Champagne. On the palate, this has a racy backbone of acidity. At the same time, a broad palate with great complexity. This is very food friendly and in fact, while drinks well on its own, is probably better suited to apps or a nice meal. This retails for $45 which is fair.
Pink/orange in color, clear and bright with a lovely mousse of tiny bubbles. The nose is pretty with strawberries. Medium to full bodied. On the palate, this is starting to show some age but also has enough acidity to keep things lively. Cherries, some cranberries and slight grapefruit notes. Very deep. Long finish. This is delicious but also complex. It will evolve into a mature Champagne so drink soon unless that is good with your tastes. If so, it has another ten to fifteen years. Very food friendly, it would be great with roasted duck.
