Nice mousse with lots of tiny bubbles. Gold green in color. The nose has a nice toast to it. Slight smoke and red apples. On the palate, this has a nice tart acidity. Some depth. Long finish. This is very food friendly and in fact, while drinks well on its own, is probably better suited to apps or a nice meal. This retails for $45 which is fair.
This is the first vintage in which the grapes for this were made using biodynamic and organic principles. Just a gorgeous wine. Medium golden in color, clear and bright with a nice mousse of thick, tiny bubbles. The nose is deep with slight toast, green apples, slight lemon curd and minerality. Full bodied. Lots of energy. Wow! Its vintage Krug, but still, wow! This is still young but it is opening up now and really hitting its stride. It has a couple of decades left or more, depending how you like older Champagne. This is from the good if not great, 2014 vintage. It is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Light golden in color with a nice mousse of tiny bubbles. Clear and bright. The nose is smoky with lanolin, toast, slight ginger and a bit of chalk. Full bodied. Great balance. On the palate, this is showing young-ish with notes of oranges, toast and an interesting chalk note especially on the finish. Ripe. Long finish. This is drinking well now and should continue if well stored for another ten years. Very food friendly, it would be very nice with lobster.
This is a blend of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Meunier. Light golden in color with just a touch of copper hues. Nice mousse with plenty of tiny bubbles. The nose is very nice with ginger, toast and minerality. Full bodied. Crisp acidity. On the palate, lemons, char, and slight pears. Long, vibrant finish. A stellar vintage for this luxury cuvee from one of the older Champagne houses. In a market that has exploded in pricing, this is one of the better values in luxury cuvee's. This vintage is 92% Pinot Noir and 8% Chardonnay. Silvery gold in color, clear and bright with a nice mousse of lots of tiny bubbles. There is some fruit on the nose (pears) but its mostly about minerality/chalk with a bit of smoke. Full bodied but yet lean and racy acidity. The minerality and chalk carry thru to the palate.
