Pinot Noir is such an expressive grape and so many different countries produce it, therefore you can always find one that suits your tastes and your budget And in the Burgundy region of France, where Pinot Noir is king, there are any number of places that produce wonderful Pinot Noir. But wine from France does not necessarily equate to expensive. As proof of a moderately priced, quality Pinot, this wine exemplifies both. There is a light earthiness that wraps around the subdued fruit of red raspberry, black cherry, blackberry and light pomegranate. The moderate tannins and acidity support this wine so that the fruit and the tactile drinking experience comes first. The wine was aged predominantly in stainless steel, which helps to retain its bright fresh quality, and just about 20% was aged in oak barrels to add again, another tactile layer to this wine.
