Cresta Blanca is a winery with its roots in the late 1800's. For the last 45 years, the winery has been stewarded by the Wente Family Winery. Wente is now releasing a separate line of wines under the Cresta Blanca name. This Chardonnay is "middle of the road" in style and fairly priced. Golden in color with a slight green hue, clear and bright. The nose has aromas of red apples, baking spices, and a slight citrus note. Medium bodied. Moderate acidity. On the palate, this presents as a round, fuller Chardonnay with flavors of red apples and spice. Good finish. There is some depth. It is nice on its own and will work well with many foods. This would go well with a Glazed Ham or just a Salad. Drink over the next five to eight years.
