Where to start? Maison Wessman is a winery in the south of France run by Robert Wessman and his wife Ksenia. JJ Julius Son is the frontman of the Icelandic rock band KALEO. He has release two wines under the Hot Blood name which are made by Maison Wessman in France. This wine is an unoaked Chardonnay. The label is a close-up of a man (presumably JJ Julius Son) with his mouth wide open (singing?). The back label also has a QR Code which takes one to a song by JJ Julius Son that "pairs well" with this wine. This has all the appearance of another "celebrity" wine that is overpriced and under quality. But. But, it is not. First, the price is $18. Second, this is really enjoyable. This is 100% Chardonnay from France that is made in Stainless Steel. Pale silvery/gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with aromas of peach and slight honeydew. Medium bodied with crisp acidity. On the palate, this is tasty. Flavors of peach/apricots with just a hint of honeydew. Good finish. This drinks well on its own and will work with lighter foods. A nice wine to drink with Hummus and veggies. Drink over the next couple of years.
