With the prices for Burgundy going ever higher, its good to know there are still values and reasonably priced wines from this fabled region. One source for value has been the Macon. This is 100% Chardonnay from that region. Light golden in color, clear and bright. The nose is nice with grapefruit notes along with a touch of steely minerality. Medium bodied. Nice balance. On the palate, this is easy drinking and smooth with just a hint of a bite on the finish. It is nice on its own but better with food. It went well with a pasta in cream sauce but would be excellent with a simple grille salmon. Drink over the next few years.
